I feel blessed: I spent the weekend following His Holiness around, very much like a doggie or as I joked to him, maybe as a mosquito! He has a great sense of humor and laughed at my jokes.
First, on Saturday morning, I went to the press conference at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan:

I will write more about what he said, please come back for more info later! Till then, pls read:
His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Japan--Day 2
One point he stressed to all of us media people was to investigate everything on our own, to check all information very carefully. He also recommended us not to only report about bad news but also focus on positive messages. I totally agree and am doing my best already but my best can and will be better soon, I hope. With effort, as His Holiness would probably say.
Next we took the shinkansen to Nagano city and I had the chance to ask him questions and to enjoy his presence.

As you can see, we are having a good time. His positive energy is so powerful that everyone around him smiles and laughs so often. Whenever he doesn't have an answer, he just says" I don't know!" And he loves asking questions to everyone. I got quite a few and was not very good at replying to them...His explanation, however, is always so clear and animated. He is the most wonderful company!

I feel so thankful for the opportunity to be this close to him. Thank you!!!

I'll be typing what he told me and will upload it later on. Also, on July 8th, some of His Holiness' Words to Live by will be in the Japan Times so please check back, OK?
On Saturday afternoon, we attended a ceremony inside Zenkoji Temple in Nagano city.
Zenkoji Temple website
Zenkoji Temple's absolutely beautiful building dates back to 1707 and the Amida triad, the first Buddhist image to have arrived in Japan in 552, is somewhere inside its halls. The Amida triad, also called " Ikko Sanzon Amida Nyorai" is Zenkoji's most sacred image and it is never displayed. However, underneath the altar, a pitchblack tunnel holds the Key to Paradise, which pilgrims can actually touch. You must visit!
